is equally known as a pianist and as a saxophonist. Since his earliest youth, he has been studying classical piano. In 1972 he began with the bassoon, played mainly saxophone and clarinet in the 80s and has been dedicated to the brass instruments for several years. He studied at the well-known jazz seminar of the Kölner Musikhochschule. From 1989 to 1998, he worked as a saxophone teacher at the University of Mainz, then until 2002 at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt in the subject of composition, ear training and ensemble playing. Peter Reiter-Schaub has been the pianist of the hr big band in Frankfurt since 1996. During this period in the hr band, he did a lot of arranging works for many productions (for example: „Lili Marleen“, „Il Barbiere di Siviglia“, „Tosca“, CD with Eddie Daniels).
As a composer he wrote a lot of tunes, a few choir music, some chamber music, one Symphonie (The Four Elements), a Jazz-Messe and a Easter-Oratory. Examples can be heard on www.reiter-schaub.de.
He played outside of the hr big band with artists like Chaka Khan, Al Foster, Tony Lakatos, Dusko Goykovich, Jule Neigel and Hana Hegerová.
